World Golf Report 2021
In 2021, the Royal Old Golf Club of Scotland (R&A) and the National Golf Foundation (NGF) jointly published the fourth edition of the World Golf Report.
The report outlines the development and industrial scale of global golf, describes in detail the development and distribution of golf industry in six regions of Africa, Asia and the Middle East, Europe, North America, Central America and the Caribbean, and Oceania, and comments on the future golf development trend.R&A and NGF
Distribution and number of golf courses in the world.
Golf is a global sport. By the end of 2020, there are 38081 golf courses in the world, distributed in 206 of 251 countries. The global diffusion rate is 82%.
However, golf is still concentrated geographically. 80% of the courses in the world are located in the top ten golf countries, including the United States, Japan, Britain (including England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales), Canada, Australia, Germany, France, South Korea, Sweden and China.
